DIY Natural Rope Coasters
If your Pinterest boards are full of beachy vibes or earthy tones, but you’re on a budget, you’re in the right place! We’re diving into another easy peasy project with Jack.
We’re making our own natural rope coasters using Jack Heavy Sisal Twine or Coco Fibre Rope!
This one is so easy, you’ll ask yourself why you didn’t make it sooner. So grab your twine or rope and we’ll glue our way to some seriously stylish coasters.

Additional materials needed for this project:
- Hot glue gun
- Heat resistant gloves
- Scissors
- Pencil & Fabric (for circular template)
Step-by-step instructions
For the plain circular coaster : Prep the base
Put on heat resistant gloves before handling the hot glue gunCut out the circular fabric template to use as the base for the coaster. This will guide the shape and add extra stability.
Work on a protected surface to avoid burns or damage. Use a cup as a guide or any item that you'd like to use the coaster with.Start the coil
Apply a small dot of hot glue at the end of the twine and begin rolling it tightly into a spiral. Be careful when pressing down to avoid burns – let the glue cool slightly before touching.
Build the coaster size
Cut off any hot glue that may have seeped out using scissors.Trim any lose fibres and ensure all pieces are glued securely. Let it cool completely before use.
